Street Work on park block:

Con Ed is currently updating all gas lines on W 68th between CPW and Columbus.
A new gas main is being laid down center of the roadway.
This project is scheduled to be completed end of June, 2026.
Work is on a 7 day expedited work week schedule.
Weekday work hours are cut short due to the presence of a school on street.
At no time will any building lose gas service.
Con Ed team is managing a challenging situation with residents, traffic, and parking competently and with care to date.

The ABC site -- W 67th St to W 66th St/ Columbus to CPW.

All former ABC buildings are undergoing demolition or rehab.
Development to last 5 more years
Community is monitoring air quality through end of project.
Developer has presented plans for a near 1200 foot supertall -- this is double the tower height above our post office + 100 feet. Tower will be along Columbus Ave, with entrance on W 67th St. There will be retail shops and a garage.
Developer concedes low, moderate & senior housing is appropriate and has contributed a small area for this housing on the campus.

The Dorchester at 155 W 68th Street:

The entire Dorchester driveway, walkway, sidewalk, and fountain are being renovated. Features include: a longer awning toward West 68th Street (facilitating additional egress to West 68th Street); fresh asphalt and stamped concrete with stone; and new planting, lighting, and building cladding.
