During this challenging time, the West 68th Street Block Association has residents who are available to assist you. However, based on growing needs as a result of the coronavirus, we are looking for additional volunteers to assist our residents. Assistance might include:
Shopping for food
Delivering medication
Handiwork
Visiting to talk
Calling to Talk
Running necessary errands
Loneliness is a serious health risk to many of our elderly residents. Social isolation impairs immune functions and boosts inflammation, which can lead to serious and life-threatening medical conditions.
If you or one of your neighbors are in need of assistance . . .
As always, we are monitoring our street to ensure it remains well-lit and safe. We also are washing the street to prevent rodent infestation and maintaining the flowers and trees for all everyone to enjoy when we all can gather again.
We encourage everyone to patronize our restaurants by ordering takeout to help them weather this tough period. Please also continue to shop locally in the stores that remain open.
